PLP Quarterly General Membership set for Thursday, February 5th, 1:30-3pm

PLP will host their quarterly general membership meeting.  This meeting is open to the Public. The program will be about the Western Yellowed Bill Cuckoo and the concerns regarding the recent designation  as Threaten and proposed Critical Habitat.
A Program will be presented by Julie Knudson of the Tamarisk Coalition.  Julie will provide an overview of the Endangered Species Act, how we got to where we are now, the potential impacts of woody invasives on species such as the Western Yellow Billed Cuckoo and the Southwestern Willow Flycatcher, and conversely the potential impacts of the presence of these birds on woody invasive control efforts and other secondary weed treatment and re-vegetation efforts.
Julie Knudson is Staff Scientist for the Tamarisk Coalition, with a PhD in Restoration Ecology from Colorado State University. She has worked with a diverse group of restoration practitioners throughout the West ranging from private landowners to consultants to local, state and federal agencies working to conduct weed management and revegetation efforts on our private and public lands.
Local Land Agencies BLM, US Forest Service and the Colorado Parks and Wildlife will provide  updates.
